Walter de Maria’s space-encompassing floor sculpture The 2000 Sculpture, which was purchased by the Walter A. Bechtler-Stiftung in 1994, has found its permanent home at the Bechtler Stiftung in Uster.
The exhibition space was specially designed to meet all the artist’s specifications for an ideal presentation of his work: A seamlessly poured concrete floor slab, ideal lighting conditions through cubic skylights and the floor plan of the exhibition space, which is precisely tailored to the dimensions of the sculpture.
