In the Anthropocene, processes of exploitation and alienation shape the relationship of humanity with nature. In the face of ecological crises, voices emerge that question its legitimation. The American art historian TJ Demos calls for new ecological art that takes local, socio-political, and financial aspects into account. The exhibition Back to the Roots presents artistic positions that offer alternative views on ecological systems, expanding the consciousness of earthly coexistence to overcome the colonial past.
