How do disruptions inform our relationship with our world? To explore this question, the two-part exhibition Aus den Fugen – Momente der Störung (English: Out of joint – Moments of disruption) gathers works from the museum’s collection.

The New York and Ramallah-based artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme will present their first solo exhibition in Switzerland at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. Through sound- and image-based multi-channel installations and live performances, Abbas and Abou-Rahme develop projects that revolve around witnessing, archiving, and exhibiting recordings of violence and loss.

In this guided tour artist Monster Chetwynd and bat expert Katja Schönbächler will take you on a journey to explore Monster Chetwynd's 'Long Eared Grey Bat, 2018-2022 (standing)' and 'Pollinator Bat, 2018-2022 (lying)' on the wooden terrace of Löwenbräukunst from both an artistic and biological perspective. The temporary public art installation is presented by Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst from 29.03. - 20.06.2022.

Artist duo Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme – whose first solo exhibition in Switzerland, ‘May Amnesia Never kiss us on the mouth’, opened in March at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst – will share insights into their practice and discuss the themes that drive their work with curator Dr. Michael Birchall and frieze assistant editor Chloe Stead. The event, which will be conducted in person and streamed online, is a partnership between Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst and frieze magazine during Zurich Art Weekend.
